BrightHouse, DHL Supply Chain renew UK logistics contract

RBR Staff Writer Published 25 April 2011

BrightHouse, the US-based cable television operator, recently renewed its contract with DHL Supply Chain, the contract logistics and value-added services division of Deutsche Post, to handle the storage and distribution of its branded household products across the UK.

BrightHouse will benefit from and a dedicated receive, store, pick, load and dispatch programme. Under the terms of the agreement, DHL's fleet will now transport TV and audio equipment, furniture and technology products, and domestic appliances to BrightHouse's eight Customer Service Centres across the UK.

DHL's 90,000 sq ft warehouse at Trafford Park will help BrightHouse to efficiently receive, pick, store, and dispatch its products. This will help streamline the supply chain, help the cable operator meet rising demand for its weekly payment products, reduce lead and processing turnaround time, as well as bring down transport and handling costs.

Through the collaboration, BrightHouse will be able to provide a greater number of cross docking sites and additional working facilities to customers in regions which are currently beyond the reach of its Customer Service Centres at short notice.
